It’s really an issue of personal preference the choice between an unglazed or tiled roof for a conservatory. We can’t just sit and say that which is better over the other, but we can highlight the distinctions and benefits of an unsupported roof. These advantages are applicable to our own roofing system made of solid materials which is that is the Leka System.
Seamless design
The primary advantage is the seamless transition that a solid roof can provide between the conservatory as a whole and the main structure.
A conservatory roofing replacement may be an exact match to the tiled roof of your house. The Leka System utilizes high-performance, yet lightweight engineered tiles to resemble slate and concrete in nearly every color. These Tapco slates and Metrotile fake concrete tiles are virtually identical to the real thing, unless you’re in the roof.
It’s a totally different style from the traditional conservatory roof that is covered in glazed. A roof that is glazed is ideal to flood the space with light but it’s not the best for design consistency. If you are looking for an unidirectional design and a seamless design, a tiled roof might be the way to go.
Greater longevity
Leka conservatory roofs are designed to last longer than other fibreglass, traditional build polycarbonate and glass roofing systems. The frame is made of glass reinforced plastic and does not contain aluminum or timber used in the construction. The ladder to exterior sheets, as well as the coating for weatherproofing are built to last.
The glass reinforced roofing product is patent-pending. The application is currently undergoing an examination and we’re sure it will be granted.
Leka has been through an extensive and thorough review of our system through MFA, the inspector for building control. In this regard, Leka has been assessed by MFA, the building control inspector. Leka System is a fully licensed, certified roofing system. It was designed specifically to be used by homeowners and is built for tradesmen without any compromise. It is a high-quality system.
The orangey look
A solid roofing system may be nothing more than completely tiled, or it could be constructed to accommodate windows as well as roof lanterns. It’s your choice. A lot of homeowners opt for an entirely tiled appearance and others prefer the roof lantern. If you choose the latter option, your conservatory will acquire the look like an orangery. If you already have a conservatory, look into Leka’s Leka Orangery Conversion Kit to make it a replacement for the roof.
